Why Oxblood Creations?
No, It's not referencing the literal blood of an ox. Oxblood is a variation of my favorite color growing up, burgundy. Burgundy was my favorite color because, for me, it represented luxury. Being born and raised in New York City I saw the highest of highs and some of the lowest of lows on a daily basis. Most of those lows being my daily life experience with the fact that I lived most of my life in the projects/public housing. I’ve always strived to earn the my way to the top and afford the luxuries I grew up surrounded by, those luxuries that were always just out of reach. I have always strived to live a life of abundance! Oxblood Creations is my way of doing so by providing the world with what I believe luxury can and should be. A version that not only looks the part but has the added tactile experience and story to feel the part too. With Oxblood Creations I also aim to set the standard for what a brand that prioritizes its environmental impact can achieve! With Oxblood Creations I aim to set an example for how a small business can make a big impact, create the life I've always dreamed of and inspire all those who come across my work and maybe have had a slow/discouraging start in life to get after their dreams too.
The Vision
Oxblood Creations will become the first of it's kind! How? My plan is to implement a business model that I've been conceptualizing since the launch of the brand, a business model I'm calling "Nomadic Local Luxury". Nomadic and local? How does that make sense? Well, here's the basic idea. Oxblood will set up shop in an agreed upon area in the world for 4-6 months out of the year. In those months the team will study the country they are in, learn what resources are grown/made sustainably in the area, absorb the culture, and have it be the inspiration for a limited edition collection. Once the collection has been designed, we will work with a local factory to produce the very limited collection. After the collection is released the team will relocate and we'll do it all over again! The result a highly exclusive, eco friendly and luxury quality product with a business model that will keep the nomadic spirit in me happy!
